Needlework Paradise Summer 2013 Classes

(307) 587-5660

Please register & pay in advance, so we can be sure to have enough materials/kits available and to guarantee your place in class.

We have a few classes scheduled to get the summer started.  We’ll be adding to this schedule and will also add some kids classes.   You can sign up in the store or you can sign up over the phone.  Payment for classes is preferred at the time of signup.  Your place in class is only guaranteed if you pay prior to the class.  If there is not enough interest for a class, it may be cancelled.  If this happens, you will be notified and your class fee will be refunded.  Should you want to cancel out of a class, please do so within 48 hours of the class to receive your refund.

Our staff is available for individual lessons in a variety of techniques.  If you’re interested in scheduling an individual lesson, please contact Needlework Paradise at 307-587-5660 and we’ll connect you with a staff member to work with you.

KNITTED FLOWER CLASS – Adventurous Beginner

Dates: Friday June 28, July 5, and July 12 at 10:00 am

Instructor:  Linda

Fee: $35 for all three classes, $15 each for one or two

Learn to make knitted flowers!  These flowers and leaves make great accents for a bag, headband, hats, or scarves; or turn them into pins!  You can take a single class or all three.  The first class is a Pinwheel Flower.  In class two you’ll make a Snow Drop Flower, and the third class focuses on leaves and stems.

EASY TABI – Intermediate Level

Instructor: Aimee

Dates/Time: Wednesday, July 10, July 24, Aug. 7, and Aug. 21 at 1:30 pm

Fee: $45 for four sessions plus materials needed for class

Tabi are Japanese socks with a separate big toe for wearing with flip-flops or thong-style sandals.  In this class we will use a silky, soft, self-patterning cotton yarn that knits up quickly.  If you have never made socks, this would be a good introduction with a bit of a challenge!

Materials: One ball of Universal Yarns Cotton Supreme Batik (or comparable worsted-weight yarn); double-pointed needles in size 3 or 4 (size needed to obtain gauge of 5.5 stitches per inch); locking stitch markers; needle to weave in ends.

CROCHETED WIRE EARRINGS – Intermediate Level

Instructor:  Aimee

Date: Friday, August 23 @ 1:30 pm

Fee: $25 (includes one spool of wire)

In this workshop, we will make a pair (2) earrings using fine-gauge wire and simple motifs.  Working with wire takes a little practice but once you get a feel for it, you’ll be able to create unique pieces of jewelry in a short time.  These make great gifts!

Materials: 28-gauge wire; crochet hook(s) in small sizes, ear wires, jump rings.
